Please help feed those in need in Northeastern PA by donating non-perishable food items to help the Junior League of Wilkes-Barre restock the shelves of the CEO’s Weinberg Food Bank.
Food donations (no glass please) can be dropped off at any one of the participating locations. Monetary donations would also be most helpful & checks can be made out to the JLWB Heartfelt Giving and mailed to:
JLWB 280 North Sherman St., # 102 Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702-5316The Junior League of Wilkes-Barre made a $24,000 Donation to Ruth’s Place, an emergency shelter for women in need. The monies were raised through the JLWB’s annual event — The Wine & Dine at the Luzerne County Courthouse. Funds will be utilized to make capitol improvements to Ruth’s Place.
Each year for the past five years, the Junior League of Wilkes-Barre has held its major fund raiser, the Wine & Dine at the Luzerne County Court House. Patrons of the event sample wine and delicious dishes graciously donated by area restaurants. This year’s Wine & Dine event will be held on Sunday, April 18, 2010 at Mohegan Sun. We are thrilled to have this event held in such a fabulous location.
